I tried to be wise,
To say you wouldn't come,
But my heart wouldn't stop hoping,
And I felt so dumb.
I didn't want to be stupid;
I thought you had things to do,
And would be at home;
I was so certain I knew!
But the instant I saw you,
My heart began to soar;
I was thrilled,
More so than ever before.

It seems so silly,
We were only apart for two days!
But it felt like an eternity,
And when I saw you

I wanted to never let you go,
To hold on with all my might.

All tongue-tied,
With nothing good to say.
But the silence in your arms
Is worth a trillion words,
Worth more to me
Than ever a princess was to king or lord.
